From booking your retreat to departing our grounds, you will receive a warm welcome, careful planning, wholesome meals, and freedom to choose among many indoor and outdoor activities. Opportunities abound for personal rest, meaningful conversations, and spiritual reflection in a beautiful and serene setting.
Gracious Hospitality
Mount Olivet Conference & Retreat Center hosts over 250 groups and 7,000 people each year. We welcome diverse communities of faith, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, business associations, families, informal groups, and individuals to retreat with us. We host special events including weddings, reunions, and memorial services. From your first inquiry to the end of your stay, our staff provide personalized, attentive, and caring service. We work closely with group leaders to meet guests’ needs for rest, growth, learning, and more.
Nourishing Meals
Food plays an important role in nurturing and sustaining us in mind, body, and spirit. Healthy eating lowers stress and anxiety and boosts immunity. Mount Olivet Conference & Retreat Center offers full-meal service, snacks, and beverage breaks for groups and individuals. Nutritious meals are prepared from our gardens and locally-sourced foods whenever possible. The expansive view of Chub Lake from our dining room fosters mindful eating and relaxing conversation during meal time.
Beautiful Landscapes
Mount Olivet Conference & Retreat Center is a place of exceptional beauty. Rolling hills, prairies, and woods invite guests to connect with nature as a theater of grace. Guests hike on five miles of trails, venture out on the marsh walk (a 425-foot floating walkway overlooking Chub Lake), meditate in the gazebo, pray in the outdoor chapel, walk the outdoor labyrinth, spy on ducks in the wildlife observation blind, or enjoy conversation over a fire on the patio. Wildflower and rainwater gardens, scattered throughout the grounds, highlight the retreat center’s natural beauty and commitments to land preservation.
Inspiring Programs
Mount Olivet Conference & Retreat Center hosts a variety of events open to the public throughout the year, including outdoor concerts, extended retreats, banquets, and virtual workshops taught by regional and national leaders. The retreat center also partners with the staff and pastors of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church to offer summer mid-week worship services and nature talks, day-long retreats at the start of Advent and Lent, men’s and women’s retreats, summer day camps, family days, and more. We hope you will join us!
