Meeting Jesus at the Well: Living Water for All Who Thirst
Chapter Four in John’s Gospel contains one of the longest encounters that Jesus shared with another person. It wasn’t with his followers, or with religious men, or even with people from his own community. Jesus’ longest conversation in recorded scripture was with a woman at a well in Samaria. This pivotal story reveals the depth and the reach of God’s restorative love as living water for all who thirst. Together we will “meet Jesus at the well,” engaging this story through art, poetry, prayer, and reflection–connecting her story to our own, and listening for God’s story of abundant grace. We will have opportunities for renewal by walking in the woods, relaxing in the pool, whirlpool, or sauna, taking a water aerobics class, crafting in the art room, or scheduling a massage (extra cost). The retreat includes evening, morning, and mid-day prayer and concludes with communion worship on Sunday morning. Led by Pastor Jeni Grangaard, Pastor Jenna Olson Popp, and the Rev. Dr. Theresa Latini.
Women’s Weekend is an annual MOCRC retreat open to all women. The retreat will begin with dinner on Friday and culminate with brunch on Sunday. Arrive on Friday afternoon and enjoy the pool, whirlpool, sauna and beautiful lounges and grounds at the Conference & Retreat Center.
