Day Lenten Journey

Tue., February 21st, 20239:30am – 3:00pm

Spend a day at the Conference & Retreat Center or livestream from anywhere for our annual Day Lenten Journey. This retreat provides space to gather with familiar and new friends and enter the season of Lent together through worship, learning, conversation, and connection with creation.

Belonging: The Gospel of John as a Call to Discipleship

Unique to the Gospel of John are the “I Am” statements of Jesus. From “I am the bread of life” to “I am the vine,” each statement invites believers into a deeper relationship with Jesus. Jesus makes his first “I am” statement when talking with the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:1-42). This provocative encounter shows us the potential and possibilities of our call to discipleship and sets the stage for understanding the other “I Am” statements in John’s Gospel. Join the Reverend Dr. Karoline Lewis, and Retreat Center staff, for an in-depth study of the implications of this text for our Lenten Journey this year. Worship will be led by Pastor Bill MacLean.
