March 25, 2020
Mount Olivet Conference & Retreat Center is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our guests and employees. Not only is this our top priority in light of the spread of COVID-19 but also is the heart of our mission of hospitality, care, and reverence for all life. To that end, we will not be receiving guests until May 1, per the MN Governor’s Executive Order 20-20. Our staff will communicate personally with all groups and individuals who planned to retreat with us during this time. We will work together with to reschedule events for future dates.
We are carefully monitoring updates and implementing recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Minnesota Department of Health, and the MN Governor’s office. We will make decisions about future scheduled retreats in the days and weeks ahead and are committed to communicating closely with you about this.
We recognize that these are anxious and uncertain days, to put it mildly. As “stay-at-home” orders are implemented and schools and businesses close, we invite you to “retreat where you are.” We have created an online collection of resources to support you and your families in doing this: practicing mindfulness each day; connecting with the beauty of nature; praying to God; and, staying grounded in hope in the midst of grief and loss. We will be updating the site and adding resources regularly. We invite you to join us for retreat and to share your stories of doing so.
Peace + grace,
Rev. Theresa F. Latini, Ph.D.
